Description

Chris Meilak – Single parent mum who works part time Luke Siggins – 8yo in Grade 2 at St William’s Primary School, Grovely Bonnie Siggins – 6yo in Prep at St William’s Primary School, Grovely Tim Siggins – 4yo in Kindy at Motherduck Childcare, Enoggera

We live in Ferny Grove and have many friends in the local area. Chris has lived here for the past 12 years. We had 2 dogs, Jessie a kelpie cross and Toby a springer spaniel, but they both died last year due to old age.

We are a sporty family, all kids go to swimming lessons. This past term all kids have also had tennis lessons. Luke does rugby during winter and cricket during summer. The other kids are yet to find their calling but we are on the lookout to find new adventures and develop new skills.

We don’t have a great deal of time as we are always so busy. I, Chris, would like to slow down our lifestyle so we can enjoy the moments a little longer but I don’t expect it to happen soon as early school years are always full of activities. Even though we love it we don’t have a lot of time for TV or computer games, it’s a bit of a treat. The 3 children received Ipods for Christmas this year, it’s been a tough year and Santa thinks they deserve them.

Tim has a wide variety of interests due to his last teacher at daycare. He enjoys gardening, water & outdoor play, reading, music and performance. He has a child’s keyboard and will sit down and play what he can. He has told me when he grows up he would like to be a builder, doctor, paramedic or vet, fireman or policeman.

Bonnie is the family princess, she loves girlie stuff and pink things. She has many dolls and loves to read fairy tales. Bonnie also likes to sing and has a beautiful voice. She has told me she would like to be a doctor or nurse when she grows up.

Luke is a sportsman, and a want-to-be sorcerer. He loves mystical movies such as ‘The last airbender’ & ‘The sorcerer’s apprentice’. He also loves his sport. He’s competitive and doesn’t like personal injustice, especially when it comes to his family. He’d like to be a professional sportsman when he’s older and when that’s over he’d like to be an architect or airforce pilot.

I work as an administrator and was in different professional industries with each pregnancy so am interested to see what each child will do when they grow up. With Luke I worked for architects, with Bonnie I worked in a hospital and with Tim I worked in financial planning.

At the age of 40 I discovered I would have liked to be a meteorologist. I didn’t even know that was a profession when I was at school. I also had an interest in cabinet making but girls didn’t do things like that when I was at school. I’ve travelled around the world as that was an ambition which I followed through. I’ve been to USA, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong (while British), Macau (while Portuguese), China, Mongolia, Russia, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg & Monaco. Places I’d still like to see are the Taj Mahal in India, various countries in Africa – I’d like to do a safari and ride an elephant, and South America. I never knew temperatures could be so extreme and lifestyles so varied.

We enjoy our lives even though it runs at a rapid pace and are hopeful that our future will capture as much experience as possible. We are here to give it all we’ve got!

Thanks Brisbane for giving us a beautiful city to live in.
